Read these vaastu tips and if  possible execute the tips at next purchase. These vastu tips are only for your idea and  knowledge on vaastu shastra. First avoid of buying Black clay soil areas, if so or otherwise the foundations will be so weak and the construction cannot stand long time. The following plots are inauspicious:

• Oval or Triangular type plots.
• Unshaped plots which are cut at Eshan ( North-east) corner.
• Round or Polygonal shaped plots.
• Rounded north-east corner plots.
• Plots which is rising (increasing) at Agneya (Southeast) corner.
• Plots which is increasing at vayavya (Northwest) corner.
• Heavy raising at southwest corner plots.
• Heavy digs at southwest corners.
• South to North at west side higher than the south to north at east side plots.
• More slope from north to south side plots or sites.
• More slope from east to west side plots.
• Heavy digs at south side plots.
• Heavy sump at west side plots.
• Mountains at north side plots.
• Heavy rocks at east side plots.
• Heavy mountain stones at Eshan side plots.
• Plots with river at south or west or southwest.
• Heavy buildings or apartments at north or east or northeast (Eshan) side plots.
• Two sides i.e., either north & south sides or east & west sides apartment plots.
• Slope from Eshan to Southwest (Nairuthi) corner plots.
• More open space at south side than north side or west side than east side plot.

Here are some things that you should watch out for when you are house-hunting. These days people purchase a flat/ apartment for different reasons, like safety, economy, proximity to the office, business and city center etc. Since independent houses or bungalows are so expensive in the center of the city, people opt for purchasing flats. Some of the general vaastu shastra rules for purchasing flats are:

• Select a site that slopes down to the north and or to the east.
• It is always advisable to go in for a site, which is either a square or a rectangle.
• Avoid sites in the vicinity of temples and nears or on burial grounds.
• Before construction remove all dirt, hair and other waste from the plot completely, Chemical    treatment is must.
• Always have a square water tank.
• Tall buildings, hills and mounds at the southern and western side show prosperity.
• Buying a new piece of land towards the north, northeast or east of existing plot either    adjacent or a little away ensures all-round success.
• For a rectangular site the length should be twice the width.
• Roads towards north and east side should be lower than the corresponding site levels.
• Examination of the side and energy patron is another important aspect of vaastu shastra.

Goddess Lakshmi means Good Luck to Hindus. The word 'Lakshmi' is derived from the Sanskrit word "Laksya", meaning 'aim' or 'goal', and she is the goddess of wealth and prosperity, both material and spiritual. Lakshmi is the household goddess of most Hindu families, and a favorite of women. Although she is worshipped daily, the festive month of October is Lakshmi's special month. Most people mistakenly consider Maa Lakshmi as the Goddess of Wealth alone. But truly speaking there are altogether 8 forms of the Maa Lakshmi. To make these 8 forms of Maa Lakshmi happy and to obtain blessings, we need to keep our house vaastu correct. Below you can read how can we construct our house as per Vaastu Shastra and please these 8 forms of Maa Lakshmi

• Riddhi Lakshmi: To please Goddess Riddhi Lakshmi we need to increase the presence of natural things in our house such as soil, plants, water, etc.
• Siddhi Lakshmi: To please Goddess Siddhi Lakshmi we need to open-up and enhance North side of our house. Keep North side clean, tidy and less loaded with heavy things. The inhabitants could be professionals like CA, IT professionals, doctors, engineers, etc. if there is blessing of Goddess Siddhi Lakshmi in the house.
• Keerti Lakshmi: The presence of Goddess Keerti Lakshmi in house will give its inhabitant’s true respects from the family members as well as outsiders. In order to please Goddess Keerti Lakshmi we need to enhance East side of our house. Don’t keep heavy things in East section of your house. And avoid keeping things like broom, cleaning cloths, shoe rack, etc. in this direction. Try to keep this section as clean as possible.
• Grah Lakshmi: This Goddess is pleased when the inhabitants have a healthy and respectful relationship with their wife. In order to keep good relationship between husband and wife one has to build their bedroom in South West direction of the house. Goddess Grah Lakshmi dwells in house where the wives are given respects and prestige.
• Shatru Vinashini Lakshmi: This Goddess helps to fight and make away with our enemies such as anger, ego, all bad habits, unpleasant neighbors/ friends/ relatives, office politics, etc. In order to please this Goddess we need to keep our kitchen in South East direction. And never keep any water reservoir and swimming pool in South East direction; this will provoke Goddess Shatru Vinashini Lakshmi’s anger.
• Sanjivani Lakshmi: This Goddess gives good health in the family. In order to get the blessing from this Goddess Sanjivani Lakshmi we need to keep our North East direction very clean, decorative and well maintained. Try to keep place of worship in this direction. Never build your toilets in North East direction as this will cause severe health problems to the residents of the house.
• Kanti Lakshmi: In order to please this Goddess we need to keep environment in our house clean. Keep things in home well organized. We need to keep our body and clothing clean and tidy too to get blessed from Goddess Kanti Lakshmi. This helps in overall personality development and positive attitude.
• Dhan Lakshmi: Presence of Goddess Dhan Lakshmi in house helps to develop the prosperity of the inhabitants in the house. To please this Goddess one should keep South West direction very clean and tidy. Keep money, jewelry, property related documents, etc, in South West direction of the house. Never keep any junk in this direction..

• Ganesh pooja, Navagrah shanti & pooja of Vaastu purush.
• Navachandi Yagya, Shantipath, agnihotra yagya.
• Vastu purush idol, Nag (snake) made of silver, copper wire, pearl and powla. All these items to be put in a red cloth with red earth and keep that in East direction.
• Red sand Cashew Nut, Powla in red cloth - keep that in West direction on Tuesday and worship that with seemed incense will bring peace in house.
• Old buildings should be demolished after permission of Vaastu Purush by prayer.
• During demolition - The Earthen Pot, Water, or Seat etc should not be taken home.
• Daily worship the entrance step - worship with Swastik - Design of Earthenware Pot., Shubh-Labh etc. with Rice and Kumkum. Do not enter the house putting your entrance step.
• Rakhshoghna Sukta jaap, Homa and anusthan should be done.
• Recite this mantra 12500 times - starting from Tuesday - minimum 108 times daily till 12500 are over "Om Namo Bhagvati Vaastu Devtay Namah" - Do Dasamsa Hom in the end.
• Prayers to Vaastu Purush.
• If South-West is cut or there is uneasiness in the family, do Pitrushanti,Pindadan, Nagabali, Narayan Bali etc.
• Do Rudri - Every Monday and Every Amavasyaday.
• Keep photo or idol of Ganpati in house.
• A pooja room in the house is must in every house.
• Do not enter house for residence doing Navagrah Shanti.
• The house which is vacant since some years should be taken in use after doing Vastu Shanti. After doing Vaastu Shanti – do not keep that house empty for more than 3 months.
• Never keep underground cellar empty.
• Do not keep South-West room vacant nor give it on rent.
• In kitchen do not keep any Power - (Shakti)except fire & water.
• Light a lamp daily evening near water pot in the house.
• Do Grah Shanti every year because we are doing many sinful things in our life.
• If some river or drain is flowing in a direction other than the north-east direction of the house and has anti - clock movement, then place the statue of dancing Ganeshji facing the west on the north-east corner of the house.
• If the boring has been done in the wrong direction in a house or a factory, then place the picture of Panchmukhi Hanumanji, facing South-East to the boring.
• If a naked wall is seen while entering into a flat, then either a picture or a statue of Ganeshji should be placed there or a Shree Yantra. The naked wall is the sign of loneliness.
• If high voltage overhead wires pass over a house, then a plastic pipe filled with lime should be erected from one corner to the other of the affected area in such a manner that its both ends should remain outside by at least three feet each. This will eliminate the evil effects of energy being generated out of the overhead wire.

The vaastu shastra principle should should be followed not only inside the building but also, outside at the portico (porch) and parking space too. Since this is the place where you park your vehicle, which carries you to your destiny and the porch is the place where you enter the house, the same vibrations will be carried into the house. So make sure you follow at least the basics of vaastu shastra at these places.

• The porch should ideally be in the east or North direction.
• The roof of the porch in the east or North should be shorter at least by two feet than the roof of the main building.
• If the porch is in the south then the southeast corner should be left vacant.
• If the porch is in west the southwest corner should be left vacant .
• A car parked in the porch should never face south.
• Try your best to park the vehicle facing east or north.
• If the car is parked at the west then the owner will travel a great deal and rarely stay at home.
• Avoid dark colors like black and gray at the portico.
• Always use light colors like yellow, green or the universal color, white.
• Swings in the portico should always be in the east or north, moving from east to west or north to south.

The vaastu shastra being an ancient architectural science, it not only deals with residential buildings, factories and industries but also has prominence along with flowers and plants in and around the buildings. Plants in and around the building play a significant role in activating positive vibrations i.e. Positive Vaastu energy to our daily life.

• Tulsi (Basin) is of great importance in houses. It should be planted in the East or Northwest direction only, since it is considered a deity.
• Jasmine (Chameli) is associated with spirituality and considered to be the best for worshipping purposes.
• Marigold, being a yellow flower, is good around the house and it gives the most positive Vaastu energy.
• Champaka, Mogra and Parijat should be planted only in the North, Northeast, South and Southeast directions of the home.
• Flower pots should never be kept on the building wall in the North, East or Northeast direction, which creates a sort of blockage in that direction.
• If possible, it is auspicious to have a pond with lotus flowers in the Northeast side of the house.
• Fruit-bearing trees should be planted only in the East direction of the garden.
• Growing tall trees in the Southwest side of the house will bring stability and progress in the house.
• Tall and heavy trees on the Southwest side protect the house from bad vibrations coming from the Southwest.
• It is better to have a money plant inside the house since it brings good luck to the house.
