Internet users are increasingly logging online to do routine tasks. Utility services such as bill payment, ticketing, banking which were earlier done manually (even by internet users) have shifted to the internet now. The popularity of entertainment activities such as online gaming, video downloads has increased and so has the share of entertainment in the main applications used online. Information as a segment has seen a decline as much of the information is in English. As more and more content is generated in regional languages this segment will see growth. While in 2006 there were 21.1 million active internet users, in 2007 about 32 million were active net users.
